Services and Amenities
All the birding areas are located alongside the national road which traverses the entire country (west to east). However, since most prime birding areas are in the remote parts of the country, the infrastructure in these areas are either limited or entirely non-existent. Thus, Bhutan Bird Quest is currently in the process of acquiring land and building our own lodges. These lodges will cater exclusively to our clients. In the interim, clients will be accommodated in the existing hotels, guest houses, private homes and tented campsites.
Our lodges, upon completion will comprise of 10 to 12 quaint cottages, all with private baths. The cottages will combine Bhutanese architecture with modern amenities. In addition, each lodge will have a dining room and a lounge.
Our Trips
At Bhutan Bird Quest we strive to provide the very best service possible in Bhutan. We do not believe in hardship for the sake of adversity or that quality should be sacrificed to save a few dollars. Although some of the birding areas may not have electricity or running water, our guides will ensure that your comfort levels are met.
Festivals [Tsechu/Tshechu]
A few of our trips are specifically scheduled in order for our guests to be able to experience a Tshechu. Tshechus are religious festivals which are held in each Dzongkhag (district) throughout Bhutan. Tshechus are the largest social and religious gatherings in Bhutan. Thus you will see them dressed in their finest traditional clothing.
Occasionally, the Tshechu dates change with no prior notification, as the Tshechu dates are subject to auspicious calculations based on the reading of astrological charts. Please accept our apologies in advance, should the festival dates change and our trips no longer coincide with a festival due to these unavoidable changes.
